1. Set up your meter
Open the app and enter your BPDB prepaid meter number — it's printed on the meter and on every recharge SMS. There's no sign-up: no email, no phone number, no password.
In Settings you can also enter your tariff rates so the per-recharge breakdown matches your slab exactly. If you skip this, the app still works — the breakdown just uses default rates.
2. Log a balance reading
Tap the + button in the middle of the bottom bar and choose Balance reading. Type the number you see on the meter display and save. That's it.
Two readings a week is plenty. Each one sharpens the burn-rate estimate, so the “days left” number gets more accurate the longer you use the app.
3. Record a recharge
Tap + and choose Recharge. Paste the BPDB recharge SMS into the box and the app reads out the amount, date, sequence number, energy cost, charges, VAT and rebate automatically. Check the values, then save.
Tip: paste the SMS exactly as received — don't trim it. The parser looks for the original field labels, so an edited message may fill in fewer values.
4. Read the home card
The teal card at the top is the app in one glance:
- Approx. balance — your last reading, adjusted forward using your recent daily consumption.
- ≈ N days left — how long that balance lasts at your current pace.
- ৳/day badge — your live burn rate.
- Since last recharge — how much you've spent and how many days have passed. Tap the card for the full tariff breakdown.
Below it, a coloured insight card compares this month's daily spending with last month's, so a spike is obvious immediately.
5. Trends & tariff breakdown
Open the Trends tab for monthly usage and spending charts over 6 months or a full year. The dashed average benchmark line across the bars shows your typical month — tap the line to see the exact average.
In Activities, tap any recharge to see it split into energy cost, demand charge, meter rent, VAT and rebate.
6. Use the token Parser
Recharge tokens are long, and meters take them in fixed chunks. Open the Parser tab, paste the token, and the app splits it into clean 20-digit steps you can punch in one group at a time without losing your place.
7. Set up alerts
In Settings, turn on low-balance notifications and pick a threshold — either an amount in taka or a number of days remaining. The app checks about every six hours in the background and notifies you when you cross it, even with the app closed.
If notifications don't arrive: allow notification permission for the app, and exclude it from your phone's battery optimisation. Aggressive power saving on some Android skins will otherwise stop the background check.
8. Share with family
In Settings → Family Sync, generate a family code and share it with the people in your household. On their phone, they enter the same code and immediately see the same readings, recharges and estimates — and anything they add shows up on yours.
Your code is randomly generated and private. Treat it like a password: anyone holding it can view and edit that family's data. One tap on Leave family disconnects a device again.
Tips & troubleshooting
- The days-left number looks off. Log two or three more readings a few days apart — the estimate follows your actual consumption, and a single reading isn't much to go on.
- The SMS didn't parse. Paste the untouched message, or enter the amount manually — every field can be typed in by hand.
- Switching language. Use the EN / বাং toggle in the top bar. It changes every screen, including number formats.
- Moving to a new phone. Export a backup from Settings, or simply join the same family code on the new device.
