Is TrackMyBill an official BPDB app?
No. TrackMyBill (BPDB) is an independent, unofficial tool for personal tracking of prepaid electricity usage. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Bangladesh Power Development Board or any government agency.
Does it read my balance from the meter automatically?
No — prepaid meters don't broadcast that. You type in the balance you see on the meter display, and paste your recharge SMS. The app does the arithmetic, projections and alerts from there.
How accurate is the “days left” estimate?
It's an estimate based on your own recent consumption, so it gets sharper the more readings you log. Treat it as a planning aid — always verify official charges and balances with your utility provider.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
Neither. The app works fully offline with no sign-up. Internet is only used if you turn on Family Sync to share data across your household's phones.
Who can see my family code data?
Only people who have your family code. It's randomly generated, high-entropy, never listed anywhere and can't be discovered by guessing. Treat it like a password and share it only with people you trust.
Is it free? Are there ads or in-app purchases?
